I’m sure many of you are just like me—you can’t get enough of the Summer Olympics! It’s such a powerful time when the entire world tunes in to watch the best athletes on the planet compete at levels most of us can’t even imagine.
Out of curiosity, I did a little research on chiropractic care and its role in the lives of these elite athletes. I came across several articles and found this excerpt particularly interesting:
“So how do they keep themselves in top shape under a training regime that involves day after day of grueling workouts? Many have found chiropractic care to be instrumental in keeping their bodies in peak condition, addressing issues before they become major problems. Although chiropractic care was first included in the official polyclinic during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, this marked the first time chiropractors were part of the official medical team for the Summer Games in London—working both in the Olympic polyclinics and directly at the event venues.
Chiropractic care has been shown to improve athletic performance by nearly 17%. That’s a significant edge when you’re competing among the world’s best. Chad Woolner, a chiropractor from Boise, Idaho, provided care for an athlete competing in London and said, ‘Athletes today are in the most competitive environment we’ve ever seen. Chiropractic plays a huge role in optimizing musculoskeletal performance, preventing injuries, and speeding recovery.’”
Time and time again, chiropractic care has proven instrumental in helping people of all ages stay healthy and active. Despite this, only about 10% of the population currently sees a chiropractor. Among that 10%, healthcare costs are significantly lower.
If you know someone who hasn’t had their spine checked, encouraging them to do so could be one of the best favors you ever do for them.
