TRUE HEALTH

Historically, Chiropractic emerged in response to 19th-century medicine’s failures, which often produced poor or harmful results. Today, attitudes vary: some chiropractors want to merge with conventional medicine, others fully embrace Chiropractic as originally intended, and many fall somewhere in between—recognizing that medical referrals are sometimes necessary for severe cases.
Most practicing chiropractors agree that specific adjustments are crucial. Gonstead famously said, “Find the subluxation, adjust it, and leave it alone.” A subluxation is a displaced vertebra causing nerve interference and inflammation, which can lead to symptoms. Without precise adjustments, patients don’t achieve true health.
Recently, a patient excitedly shared that after years of severe menstrual cramps, she no longer experiences them—without ever mentioning this issue to me. I simply found her subluxation, adjusted it, and left it alone.
Our bodies are naturally equipped for health, controlled by the nervous system that develops within seven days of conception. Chiropractors aim to relieve nerve pressure to help the body heal itself.
